Noah and the Flood
The descendants of Adam and eve lived all over the world. But when the lord god saw the extent of human wickedness, and the trends and direction of men's lives were only towards evil, he was sorry he had made them. It broke his heart.
He decided to destroy every human being and living creature he had created. Only one man and his family were good: This man was Noah.
The story of Noah and the Ark
HE was the only true righteous man living on the earth at that time. He tried always to conduct his life according to god's will. And he had three sons- Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Mean while, the crime rate was rising rapidly across the earth, and, as seen by god, the world was rotten to the core. As god observed how bad it was, and decided to destroy all mankinds's; for the earth was filled with crime because of man. Yes, I will destroy mankind from the earth. Make a boat from resinous wood, sealing it with tar; and construct decks and stalls throughout the ship. Make it 450 feet long, 75 feet wide and 45 feet high. Construct a skylight all the way around the ship, eighteen inches below the roof; and make three decks inside the boat- a bottom, middle, and upper deck-nd put a door in the side.
"Look! Am going to cover the earth with a flood and destroy every living being- everything in which there is the breath of life. All will die. But I promise to keep you safe in the ship, with your wife and you're three sons and their wives.
Bring in a pair of each kind of bird and animal and reptile. Store away in the boat all the food and that they and you will need" And Noah did everything as god commanded him.
Finally the day came to Noah, " Go into the boat with all your family, for among all people of the earth, I consider you alone righteous. Bring in the animals two by two, and take seven pairs of the animals for eating and sacrificing.
There will be every kind of live producing after the flood had ended. One week from today I will begin forty days and nights of rain; all the animals and birds and reptiles I have made will die."
Noah did everything the lord commanded him. He was 600
years old when the flood came. One week later when Noah was 600 years, two months and seventeen days old, the rain came down in mighty torrents from the sky and the subterranean waters burst forth upon the earth for forty days and nights.After being shut up in the ark for
371, From one of the small windows, Noah could see only the mountain peaks and the sky. So he sent out a raven and a dove see if there was dry land. The birds saw water everywhere, and flew back. A week later, Noah sent the dove for another look. It came back with an olive leaf. Olive trees do not grow on high land so Noah knew that the floods must be gone right down.
God blessed Noah and his family and told them to have many children and to repopulate the earth.
God told Noah that he would never again destroy everything in the world by a flood. A rainbow would be a sign to remind people of his promise.
