WHAT I LOOK FOR IN AN AWARD SITE

1. Simply stated--I must like it.

2. It must be easy to navigate.

3. All browsers are not Java-friendly. Please give surfers an alternate.

4. No pornography or nudity.

5. Flashing lights give many people migranes.

6. Pleasing and coordinated color and graphics.

7. There must be an exit from your site. Don't lock surfers in. In some cases I have actually had to turn to OFF to break out of a web site.

8. Please give the surfer a way to turn music down.

9. Content must be of use to researchers.

10. Site must be more than just links to other sites.

11. Check all links before submitting to make sure they work.

12. Genealogy sites are ALWAYS under construction, so those little signs and men working are not necessary. Any award site should be advanced to the point of standing on its own.

13. Credits should be given when due.
