DAYTOP, NEW JERSEY is committed to maintaining quality care for each client with special emphasis on treating those adolescents without adequate financial resources or in need of an alternative to incarceration. At all times, rights and needs of each adolescent are preserved and respected.

VISION STATEMENT

By the year 2000 and beyond, DAYTOP, NEW JERSEY will offer a full continuum of care to every substance abusing adolescent in New Jersey, either directly or through affiliation with other healthcare providers. DAYTOP, NEW JERSEY will continually assess and redesign itself using the criteria of its therapeutic community tradition and contemporary treatment concepts. DAYTOP, NEW JERSEY will meet the highest standards of a managed care environment as well as the standards of other healthcare and funding agencies.

PHILOSOPHY

Treatment at DAYTOP, NEW JERSEY is based on the premise of self-help in an atmosphere of positive peer interaction. Drug and alcohol abuse is not necessarily seen as the primary problem but more as symptomatic of unresolved conflicts or problems. The adolescent is assisted in identifying these deeper conflicts and taught ways to resolve conflict and express the accompanying feelings in an appropriate and healthy manner. Antisocial behavior and substance abuse are addressed as inappropriate, unhealthy and irresponsible. The adolescent's family is viewed as an integral part of the treatment program. Twelve Step Programs are one of the treatment modalities incorporated into the overall program.
