Genealogy

For many, discovering their Scots-Irish or Ulster-Scots heritage will involve journeying into the dense foliage of their own family tree. I personally feel that much can be learnt from such a journey and whatever skeletons lie down the road we must all realise that we are a product of what has been - warts and all.

I am proud of my heritage and what many of the people of this unique product of history have achieved. I am also mindful of the problems and prejudices that come with such a heritage particular those that have been connected with the troubles of my own homeland. However I believe that through studying our history and in particular our own family history we have the best opportunity to learn form the past. I am no expert in genealogy but I am satisfied that , along with my brother and the help of other family members, we have been able to make a good attempt at tracing our ancestry.

For those of you just embarking on this epic voyage or even those still charting their way I wish you the very best of luck and hope that you find the enjoyment that I have had over the last few years.

I have split the Genealogy side of the web site into two main areas i.e. general research and research into the Gray family name. Please follow the links below for more information.
