Columbia to be Featured in Commercial

There was great excitement on Main Street the first weekend of November, 1999, as professional film crews came to town. Columbia had been chosen as a featured community in the latest series of Travel Louisiana ads, which are shown nationwide as a promotion for the Louisiana Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism. The theme of the ads, that begin running in early 2000, is a joyous parade and "Second Line" made up of people representing all areas of the state.

Caldwell Parish citizens make up the "crowd" at the parade, and several locals are featured performers. The Rhythm Blues of Caldwell Parish High School march in the parade, as well as the Grambling State University Marching Band.
