Rosa, the Main Street Spokescat

Main Street Columbia is proud to have Rosa as its official Spokescat. Rosa, pictured here with Louisiana Lieutenant Governor Kathleen Blanco on a recent legislative tour of our town, was a half-starved kitten when she presented herself at the back door of the Schepis Museum and volunteered her time to the community. After many good meals, some public relations training (and neutering), she has become a symbol of the growth and progress of the town of Columbia.
Rosa's supporters have nominated her for Mascot of the Year at the First Annual Louisiana Main Street Awards Presentation, and there has even been talk of a run for parish office (Secretary of Rodent Control?).
Rosa rules ----- and acts as an ambassador to all who visit. She conducts weekly inspections of the Schepis Museum for spiders and any other intruders, and has managed to make herself generally indispensable.
Incidentally, she's quite a ham, and has posed for many tourist photos as she preens in her window perch in the Main Street Office.
