For Mom and Dad

Because This Mission was NOT Impossible

The 66' Mercury has been sold!

My father had a 1966 Merc. Comet that he placed a 428 Super CJ Big Block in. My parents built this as a hobby, he raced it then blew it up and built it again. The new engine had never been raced. Four years ago my father unexpectantly passed away, and my mother had the race car that she did not use, and couldn't maintain if she did. Thankfully, we were able to find a family of racers who bought the car and now they are racing it. The 66' Mercury Comet returned to the race track this spring May of 2000, and will be driven by a fellow woman. Yes, a woman! I wish her all of the best and I hope she has a terrific season.

Here are Pictures of the Car for you to see.

This is the Mercury Comet

This is the race car with my dad in the drivers seat, he was the only person who drove it. My older brother Derry is discussing the game plan- for the win.

Other Pictures of this Car:

The car on the trailer-- ready for a race.
The car on a trailer all ready for the races.
The engine-- clean enough to eat off of.
The engine was my father's last child. Just as all of his children were growing out of diapers he had this child. Anyway he built it in my mothers laundry room over the winter. Don't ask how he and my mom got it out of the house.
