VA, and died 1823 in Flat Creek, Bath County, Ky.

 Before appearing in Kentucky, William and Barbara Donaldson

joined

in a deed with her mother, Elizabeth and her brothers and sisters and their

wives and husbands to convey to John Walker the lands devised to them in

Alexander's Will in the year of 1796.  Wm. Donaldson appears on the tax

rolls of Montgomery and later Bath County from 1797 until 1814, when Barbara

was listed in his stead      until 1825.  Wm. Donaldson was one of the first

Justices of Bath County in 1811 when the county was established.  He was a

Lieutenant Colonel of the State Militia in the War of 1812, serving also for

a     period of weeks during the war as Acting Adjutant General of the State

Militia.  He resigned in 1814 and died the same year, intestate.  His wife

continued on the family lands until the family was grown.

Information found in the Presbyterian Church records shows a Alexander Walker having

his daughter Barbara baptized in the year 1741.  This is not the same Barbara Walker

but most likely the one she was named after; perhaps a great aunt.

According to Russell Ginter, he was afraid of the dark.  Once he thought someone was stealing some of his chickens so he shot at them.  At that time it was legal to shoot, and kill, someone caught stealing chickens.  After shooting, he shouted to his wife because he was happy he caught the alleged thief.  When daylight broke and he could go out to see who it was that was stealing his chickens, he and his wife discovered he had shot their turkey out of the tree.

Married in the priest's rectory, because Doris Maxine Daniel was not Catholic yet, so wasn't allowed to be married in the church.{Our Lady of Lourdes} also known as St. Mary's because of the name of the school which it is a part of.  They left on their honeymoon in a friend's car, because John did not own one yet.

Maxine finished 2 years of college to be a teacher, but quit to marry John.  She did substitute at St. Mary's from time to time, including helping out in the school cafeteria cooking, washing and serving the lunch line when they were short handed.
