A person's home is his castle - no matter how small, no matter how large. Welcome to my family home on the internet. I think the first poem "Riches" reflects the real "me" - please share with me and enjoy. An index to my "home" is listed below as are "Pearls of Wisdom" for living a life of inner richness.

RICHES

My soul is at peace on this Saturday morn, The riches I own no other can feel. As I gaze from the loft of my beach side shack My daughter and friends are sleeping in peace. My wonderful man chopping wood for our hearth, To warm up our souls as the ocean winds blow. My faithful friend Lucky close by my side, His keen ears a beacon to keep our home safe. The riches we own are not of this world, They're not in the bean pot that's three days old, They're not in our car that can't make the grade, They're not from the minimum pay that we make, That barely adds beans to the pot on the hearth. The riches we know come from love that we share, From the beauty of nature, from the beauty of soul. Pleasure from viewing a sleeping child's face, The warmth from the fire, the smell of the beans, The strong arms around me, my dog by my side. To know that the winds from the ocean will bring A breath of fresh air, a light mist of rain, A promise of knowing we're rich from within, That each life hereafter we'll still be together, The richness of souls finding beauty within. PEARLS OF WISDOM

Yesterday is history,
Tomorrow is a mystery,
Today is a gift,
That is why we call it the "Present."

The door to the human heart can be opened only from the inside.

Happiness is like jam -
you can't spread even a little without getting some on yourself.

Finish each day and be done with it
You have done what you could;
Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in
Forget them as soon as you can
Tomorrow is a new day;
You shall begin it well and serenely.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

If you have to choose between pleasing another person and pleasing God,
Choose God - He's most likely to remember.

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged
Bird that cannot fly.

Enjoy an old favorite - Annabel Lee by Edgar Allen Poe.
