Caterpillar Carryall Activity

You Need:
A. Crayons or markers
B. Clear contact paper
C. Scissors
D. Glue
E. Stapler
F. Oaktag
G. Masking tape

1. Reproduce the caterpillar head and body patterns twice for each child. Have children color, laminate, and cut out.
2. Tell each child to glue around the edges, leaving the top of the body open as shown. Staple every few inches to reinforce the edges.
3. Cut out a handle from oaktag. Have each child trace the handle two times, color, and cut out.
4. Help each child glue the handles to the middle of the top of the caterpillar body. Reinforce by stapling.
5. Have children use masking tape to attach the caterpillars to the sides of their desks. Let children store supplies in the organizers, such as pens, pencils, rulers, and markers.
