THE ROWDY REEDS
Herein lies one of my mysterious ancestors. Sometime before 1852, David REED and Catherine WALTON were married, probably in Nova Scotia, Canada where their son Charles Edward REED was born on the 23rd of June, 1852. By the 25th of October, 1881, Charles was living in Boston, MA and marrying Sarah J. ALLEN of Milton, MA. Charles Edward built their home in Mattapan, MA., where I grew up. Charles and Sarah spent the rest of their lives in that home. Charles died on 10 Jan. 1937 and Sarah died 18 Nov, 1934. Picture of the house that he built follows.
Charles and Sarah had one son, Charles David REED, my father. Charles David was born on 7th of January, 1883 and died on 22nd December, 1951 in the house his father built in Mattapan, MA. Here is where this line of REED's stops. No male heirs, just my sister and I who Charles David adopted after he married my mother, Madeline CUSHING on 26 July, 1942.
