Unto us a child is born....

(Isaiah 9:6)

Wishing you all a wonderful and joyous Christmas season. Amidst all the decorations, lights, gifts, may we remember the reason for celebration.....our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son"
(1 John 3:16)

Christ came into this world with one mission. And one mission only. That was to pay a debt He did not owe for man who owed a debt they could not pay. For God to step down from His sovereign position to that of a humble human being, is absolute LOVE & GRACE.

On His way to the cross, He never defended Himself, never fought back, never spoke a harsh word against anyone. In the Garden of Gethsemane Jesus prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as Thou wilt." And on the cross He cryed out to His Father, "ELI, ELI, LAMA SABACHTHANI?" ("My God, my God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?")

And don't you suppose how deeply it hurt God, to turn His back on His only Son? To desperately want to take His Son off the cross with a blink of His eye?? Of course.....but He allowed His Son to suffer for you and me. He did ALL that for us! Someone had to pay for our sins. We couldn't. There was/is nothing we ourselves can do to make it right with God. A sacrifice had to be made. Not animals anymore, year after year. A one-time sacrifice for all mankind. The only way for us to get to God is thru His Son, Jesus Christ.

"I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me"
(John 14:6)

And you know what He wants in return? You. A relationship with YOU. Your love, your time, your faith and trust in Him. Not just during a crisis in your life. He wants you ALL the time. That's not very much to ask, is it? Open your heart...ask Him in. He will change you from the inside out.
