Although my primary job responsibilities are on board CG-66, a cruiser, the USS Hue City, we don't live at sea. We are in port updating systems and resting for the next rotation with the fleet. I have a bunk assigned on board, however in port;
I live at a Christian Residential Ministry known as "Missions to Military". My address is:
Of course, as parents we look for opportunity to brag about our son, Chris.
The Mayport Report is a newsletter published by Ron and Flo Robertson. A recent issue contains a photo of our son, Chris, along with his shipmate, Jason and a couple of other guys, patching the roof above the servicemen's rest room.

Hi, Welcome to a page dedicated to our son, FC2 Chris Payne. He is currently stationed on the USS Hue City, CG-66.

weapons systems on combat ships. Complex electronic, electrical and hydraulic equipment is required to ensure the accuracy of Navy guided-missile and surface gunfire-control systems. My parents really like the idea that I have adoptive parents. They are Ron and Flo Robertson.
Ron and Flo say, "We are grateful for each of the servicemen God has brought to the Military Christian Center, and for the opportunity to share the Gospel as well as teach the Word of God to such willing hearts."
...The food, bunks and counseling are ALL free of charge with no strings attached, except that we want the military man or woman to know we are servants of Jesus Christ and the paramount purpose of our ministry is to exalt Him in everything! Yes, we are different!
The basic schedule of our Servicemen's Christian Centers is to be open daily. We are closed for church services and all who enjoy the facilities of each center are required to attend a local church and preferably with us. We are a vital part of the local church where we are located. Yes, we are different!
...In several aspects our Servicemen's Christian Centers ARE different. Certainly, we expect people to relax, have good fellowship, and enjoy excellent meals; but beyond this, we also encourage and expect a life brought under discipline and accountability - to the end that God is glorified!. {end quote}
This is a blessing to us, as Christian parents.
Well, I'll continue developing this page as time goes on. I want to add some links to Navy pages.
I've often wondered what the symbols in the Navy enlisted grade insignia means. I knew it had something to do with the duties assignment, however that is as far as my knowledge went. Now that Chris is in the Navy, I decided to research furthur. Here are the results of my research.
The Navy has a page devoted to a brief description of the symbols.
