One of my great-grandmothers was Lora Ethel Conley, who died on Christmas Day, 1996 at the age of 101. She was the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Conley and Mahala Hall. Lora married John Wallace Wright.
Thomas ("T.J.") was the son of Ezekiel and Elizabeth H. "Patsy" (Skaggs) Conley. He was born in 1868 in Johnson Co., KY and died in 1938 in Jefferson Co., KY. T.J. married three times:
(1) Mahala Hall (d. abt. 1899), with whom he had five children:
- David Henry (1892 - abt. 1908)
- Laura Belle (1893 - 1919)
- Lora Ethel (above)
- Elizabeth (1897 - 1987)
- Squire (1899 - 1943)
(2) Emma or Emmaline Wright (d. abt. 1908/1910), with whom he had three children:
- Polly Catherine (1902 - 1988)
- Rebecca (1906 - 1987)
- Estill (1908 - 1972)
(3) Annie Osborn (no children, no further information)
The genealogy of Capt. Connelly's descendants has been extensively researched and the results published by Magoffin County (KY) Historical Society.
