One of my great-grandfathers was John Wallace Wright (3 Jun 1898, Morgan Co., KY - 3 Aug 1936, Boyd Co., KY), son of William Calvin and Emma (Leslie) Wright. John Wallace married (1) Lora Ethel Conley. They divorced when their only child, my grandfather, was young. John married (2) Gracie Lucinda "Lucy" Williams.
According to family tradition, my second great grandfather William Calvin Wright (1871, VA - 1957, Rowan Co., KY) was the son of William Jasper and Rebecca "Becky" (Green) Wright. William Calvin married (1) Catherine Yates on 25 Aug 1894. Catherine is said to have died a few weeks after their marriage. William married (2) Emma Leslie about 1897. Both of these marriages were purported to have occurred in Morgan Co., KY, but I have yet to find records for either of them. Emma and William were the parents of at least 5 children: John Wallace (above), Amos Jasper, Albert Melvin, Doshia Lee, and Charlie Coon.
William and Emma appear on the 1900 Census in Morgan Co., KY with John Wallace (age 1) and on the 1910 Census for Morgan Co., KY with John (12), Amos (5), and Albert (4). William was a widower by the 1920 Census. Family tradition places Emma's date of death in November 1915 in Rowan Co., KY, but I have yet to substantiate this. I believe it is more likely that she died in Morgan Co., KY. William and his family were enumerated as follows on the rolls for Coffee Creek, Morgan Co., KY:

Wallace, 22
Jasper, 17
Melvin, 14
Doshia, 9
Charlie, 6
William married again sometime after the 1920 Census. He and his 3rd wife, Dollie (Forkum) Williams Wright are buried in Caudill Cemetery, Sharkey, Rowan Co., KY, along with some of William's descendants by his second wife.
