Looking for Walter Rowe's ancestors, his emigration to Canada, and any other Rowe's in Ottawa. etc…
Walter was born in Suffolk England, came to Canada circa 1883 married to Alice Bridges circa 1876 in Sussex, England. She predeceased him in 1901. He lived in Ottawa for 40 years prior to moving to North Bay to reside with his daughter Mrs. Francis.
In Ottawa he was well know in the building trades and was a member of Bell Street United church. There first three children (Freeman b. 1877, Alfred b. 1878, and Esther b, 1882) were born in Sussex, England. Walter died on February 28, 1936 and he was survived by two daughters, Mrs. Francis of North Bay, and Mrs. Joseph Presley of Curran Ontario, three sons, Edmond Rowe of Edmonton Alberta, Alfred Rowe of Port Hope, and Freeman Rowe of Ottawa. A son Nathen, died six years ago. Two brothers
also survived in England.

Hugh Roe was born circa 1617 in England. He married for the second
time in 1654/5 in Weymouth, MA, and he died on August 5, 1689 in
Suffield, MA (now CT). Hugh's second wife, Abigail, was born ca. 1626,
and also died in Suffield on September 3, 1689. Hugh may have lived
in Martha's Vinyard in 1658; was a sealer of leather in Hartford in
1663; appears to have been a freeman in Hartford in 1669. The family
settled in Suffield, MA, which in 1749 became Suffield, CT, abt 1671-2.
Hugh was noted in the first town meeting on March 9, 1681. His land
consisted of much of the SE portion of the present inner town of
Suffield, or 80 acres. Suffield was founded by John Pynchon of
Springfield, and was first called Stony Brook Plantation. It was burned
by the indians in 1675. The settlers returned in 1676 at which time
Hugh petitioned to be exempted from military service on the grounds
of infirmity. Hugh opened a tavern, probably the first in Suffield,
in 1681, and was a constable in 1684-5-8. "I should have asked them
when they were alive."

Endeavoring to find second cousins. In 1931ish my Grand Uncle Fred (Freddie) Rowe, his wife and family immigrated to Canada.
My Great Grandfather Richard Rowe resided in Rexham in
North Wales England around 1865.
My Grandfather, George Richard Rowe (born approx. 1879 in
Rexham) (Fred's brother) went into the army in the early 1900ies
and ended up as Major Rowe and lived in Dover in the County of
Kent, England. He married Ida Lois Chambers who came from
Helpstone, Peterboro in the County of North Hamptonshire,
England. They had 2 offspring, my father Richard Eric Rowe and
Phyllis Rowe (now deceased). I found out last week that Fred
(Freddie) Rowe had a sister by the name of "Flo" and several
other brothers and sisters (names unknown). One of my
Grandfathers brothers was killed whilst looking for bird's eggs
off the White Cliffs of Dover
My father, Richard Eric Rowe married Thelma Gentry in 1937 and
are still alive and live in Canterbury in the County of Kent,
England.
Unfortunately, they don't have any information on the Rowe
Family.
I, not having family or relatives in the USA though I would see
what the internet would bring forth and see if I can find Fred
(Freddie) Rowes siblings if possible.
All I have to go on is the name of Fred (Freddie Rowe) and the
fact that they immigrated to Canada.

Ed ROW (b. 1827 in MO, d. 1910 in Pottawatomie co, OK) was a blacksmith, a silversmith and a constable living in Hunt and
Denton counties, Texas. He and his wife, Clarinda Ruth DAVIS of McKinney, TX, were charter members of the First Baptist Church of Denton, TX in 1858.
After serving in the Civil War, Ed ROW had a a trading post, Row's Hill, two miles southeast of the Delashaw home on the Cooke-Grayson (Texas) county line. After his wife died, leaving twin baby daughters, Ed remarried a Catharine ______ and moved to Young co, TX, later to Tecumseh, OK. His first wife, daughter Martha and her husband G.W. DELASHAW are buried at Shiloh Cemetery near Dexter, Cooke co, TX.

I am searching for Albert Rowe who married Mercy Bourne probably
in London, Eng. Unsure of date but third child was born in 1879.
Children are Albert, Grace, Percy b.1879, Claude b.31 Aug 1885
in London, Howard b. 1887, and Gordon b. 1895. Claude was my
husband's grandfather. Apparently Albert and son Albert both
died in Tasmania in a hospital for the insane. (???) Mercy and
the other children came to Canada before 1909. Gordon became a
missionary to China. He wrote a commentary on each book of the
Bible -- some dated 1938. Howard was a photographer in Eastern
Canada, probably Toronto. Claude married Fanny Skidmore in
Winnipeg and a few years later moved his family west to
Vancouver. Then north to Powell River. Percy was a
hotographer, also in Vancouver. Grace married Hartley Barber
and also lived in Vancouver. I have other little bits of info
but not nearly enough! Would love to connect with anyone
researching this family to compare notes etc.

The earliest Rowe I have is Andrew Tate Rowe who was in Memphis,
Shelby Co. TN before migrating to Hopkins Co. TX. It's possible
that Andrew's father's name was Jack (John?) Rowe, mother unknown. Known children are listed below.

Martin Roe, b. about 1816 in South Carolina and living in Dale County,
Alabama at the time of the 1880 Census. Family Bible records show he
married Adaline F. ___, b. GA. 28 May 1828. Bible records list the children:

Jerusha Hasseltine Roe was my g-grandmother, who married James Marion
Thompson (b. 12 May 1854, Barbour Co., Alabama) about 1876, and

moved to Texas before the birth of their first child. (Would
appreciate
information on James, too, if anyone has it. It is possible
he is the
six-year-old James M. listed in the 1860 Census records of
Barbour Co.
under the household of Enoch Thompson, b. about 1825 in AL.)

I am looking for information on the family of John Rowe, born
about 1793 in Ireland. He was listed in the Irish census of 1841
as a weaver in Killeshandra Townland, County Cavan, Ireland.
I later found him, his son Thomas, and his daughter Isabela in Manvers Township, Durham County, Ontario, Canada near the village of Pontypool. The nearest cities are Port Hope to the southeast and Petersborough to the northeast.
Thomas's son, John Rowe, emigrated to Dakota Territory in 1880.
I'd like to know more about this family in Ireland and Canada, and can furnish a wealth of information on the family after they moved to what is now North Dakota.

Researching Roe family line that came over to the United States in the early
1940's and settled in Philadelphia, Pa. Thomas and Mary Roe left Stevenston,
Scotland and settled in the Philadelphia area. Children were James Stewart,
Mary Stewart, Isabella, and Thomas.

My ancestor was John Adams Rowe of Coosa County Alabama. He and several
other Rowes/Row/Roe bought land there in 1837. They came from Georgia.. My
John A. is listed in the Coosa census of 1840, 1850, and 1860.. He and his
first wife Mary lived in the vicinity of Wetumpka, Alabama. He was a
farmer.. The other Rowes I am aware of in Coosa, and in Montgomery County
are Joshua, Revolutionary War soldier, his son Daniel, Baptist preacher,
Michael, George, Alsen, Gabriel, Jesse, and another Joshua. I have record
of a John A.D. and Mariah Rowe that sold land to Daniel. I have no other
record of John A.D.
My family is trying to find the parents of John A. and determine how all of these Rowes fit together.. If anyone can help in this regard, we would be eternally grateful !!!!

My ancestor is Jesse Rowe b. 1755 in VA. He moved from Louisa Co. VA to
Ohio sometime around 1803, first settling in Ross Co. then Fayette Co.
His daughter Elizabeth married James Rowe--possibly a cousin.
Morris B. Rowe, grandson of James and Elizabeth Rowe, married Sarah Ellen Row, daughter of Andrew Row and Ester Davis. Andrew was born in 1803. I am trying to find Andrew's parents. They seem to be connected to Jesse's line, but I don't know how. Any help would be appreciated.

Am searching for information on John Row, b before 1761
possibly in Edgecomb Co NC. Owned land in Nash Co NC but
left before 1790. Some children born in TN. Was in the
1810 census in Christian Co KY where his daughter Susan
and another child were married. Moved to Cape Girardeau Co
MO about 1814. Died there after the 1840 census. He had
father William who died in Edgecomb in 1761, and brother
William who stayed in Nash Co. His father William may have
come from the Row families in Beaufort and Craven Counties.

I am searching for the Roe (Possibly John) that married Lucretia
(Possibly Grisham) that was murdered in Hawkins or Claiborne
County, Tennessee.
They had a son, Pharoah Roe, that married Elizabeth Carpenter. Pharoh was born Abt 1802 and Elizabeth was born abt 1810 in Claiborne County, Tennessee. They had Wiley Roe, B: 1828, Joseph Wilson Roe, B: 1830 and Mary Ann Roe, B: 1832. They also had a daughter named Elizabeth Roe.
Any info would be appreciated. I am just into this line. Elizabeth is a sister to my gr gr gr grandmother, Nancy Carpenter Byrd.
