Cary Community Guide

Community Overview

Cary is a village of about 10,000 on the Fox River 43 miles northwest of downtown Chicago. While mainly residential, Cary has two industrial parks and is planning for some commercial development. Recreational opportunities include the programs of the Cary Park District. Grade school-aged children attend District 26 schools and secondary students go to Cary Grove Community High School, District 155. (See below for details on schools).

Transportation needs are served by major local roads (U.S. 14/Northwest Hwy., Cary Road). Commuter service to downtown is provided by Metra. Travel time to the downtown Chicago station is about 57 minutes (express). Local bus service is available from PACE. The RTA Travel Info. Number is 1-800-972-7000.
