Frankfort Community Guide

Community Overview

Frankfort is a village of about 7,200 37 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. It is a growing community, undergoing residential and commercial development, including Frankfort Crossing, which features the Jewel and Osco stores. Recreational opportunities include the programs of the Park District. Grade school-aged children attend New Lenox elementary school district 157C and 161 schools, while secondary students attend Lincoln-Way Central High School, district 210. (See below for details on schools).

Transportation needs are served by area highways (I-57, I-80), and major local roads (U.S. 45, U.S. 30/Lincoln Hwy.). Commuter service to downtown is provided by the Metra Rock Island Line (RI) in Mokena or the Heritage Electric (HE) Line in University Park. Travel time to the downtown Chicago station is about 60 minutes. Local bus service is available from PACE. The RTA Travel Info. Number is 1-800-972-7000.
