Glendale Heights Community Guide

Community Overview

Glendale Heights is a primarily residential community of about 28,000. Glendale Heights Sports Hub features racquetball and an Olympic sized swimming pool for the sports-minded, and the Park District sponsors recreation programs as well. Grade school-aged children attend schools in districts 15 and 16, while secondary students go to Glenbard High (North, South, East or West) in district 87.

Transportation needs are served by area highways ((Eisenhower Expwy. - I-290, Tri-State (I-294), North/South Tollway (I-355), East-West Tollway (I-88)) and major local roads (Rte. 38 - Roosevelt Rd., Routes 64 and 53). Commuter service to downtown is provided by Metra at the Glen Ellyn or Medinah stations. Travel time to the downtown Chicago station is about 40-45 minutes. Local bus service is available from PACE.
