Glenview Community Guide

Community Overview

Glenview is a village of about 37,000 20 miles north of downtown Chicago. The town has a mix of residential and industrial development, including companies such as Scott Foresman and Zenith Electronics. Recreational opportunities include the programs of the Glenview Park District and an active Little League Baseball program. Grade school-aged children attend districts 30, 31, 34, 37, 63, and 65, while secondary students go to Glenbrook South High, district 225, New Trier High, district 203 or Maine East, district 207. (See below for details on schools).

Transportation needs are served by area highways (I-94/Edens Expwy., I-294/Tri-State Tollway), and major local roads (Lake Ave., Waukegan Rd., Willow Rd.). Commuter service to downtown is provided by Metra, and the CTA Skokie Swift. Travel time to the downtown Chicago station is about 35 minutes (Express). Local bus service is available from PACE.
