Hinsdale Community Guide

Community Overview

Hinsdale is a community of around 16,000 18 miles from downtown Chicago. The village has an active park district program, with 18 parks, a swimming pool and numerous tennis courts available to residents. Grade school-aged children attend district 180 and 181 schools, while secondary students go to Hinsdale Township High School in district 86. (See below for details on schools).

Transportation needs are served by area highways ((Eisenhower Expwy. - I-290, Tri-State (I-294), North/South Tollway (I-355), East-West Tollway (I-88)) and major local roads (Rte. 34 - Ogden Ave. County Line Rd., Rte 83). Commuter service to downtown is provided by Metra on the Burlington Northern (BN) line. Travel time to the downtown Chicago station is about 20-30 minutes. Local bus service is available from PACE.
