Lemont Community Guide
Community Overview
Lemont is a village of about 11,500 27 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. The town has undergone much residential development recently, but is attempting to preserve and revitalize the downtown and other areas. Recreational Opportunities include the programs of the Park District, several parks, forest preserves and wildlife areas. Grade school children attend district 113, while secondary students go to Lemont High School, district 210. *See below for details on schools.
Transportation needs are served by area highways (I-55), and major local roads (I-53). Commuter service to downtown is provided by Metra's Heritage Corridor Line (HC). Travel time to the downtown Chicago station is about 50 minutes. Local bus service is available from PACE. The RTA Travel Info. Number is 1-800-972-7000.
