New Lenox Community Guide

Community Overview

New Lenox is a village of about 12,000 40 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. It is a growing community, undergoing residential development, but still retaining a rural flavor with the farmland to the northwest. Recreational opportunities include the programs of the Park District. Grade school-aged children attend New Lenox elementary school district 122 schools, while secondary students attend Lincoln-Way High School, district 210. (See below for details on schools).

Transportation needs are served by area highways (I-57, I-80),and major local roads (Cedar Rd., U.S. 30/Lincoln Hwy.). Commuter service to downtown is provided by the Metra Rock Island Line (RI). Travel time to the downtown Chicago station is about 60 minutes. Local bus service is available from PACE. The RTA Travel Info. Number is 1-800-972-7000.
