Northlake Community Guide

Community Overview

Northlake is a village of about 12,500 13 miles west of downtown Chicago. The village has a large industrial base, supplemented by commercial and residential development. Residents can take advantage of Veterans Park District programs. Grade school-aged children attend district 83 or 87 schools, while secondary student go to Proviso West (District 209), or West Leyden (District 212) High Schools (See below for details on schools).

Transportation needs are served by area highways (I-294/Tri-State Tollway, I-290/Eisenhower Expwy.), and major local roads (I-20/Lake St., Grand Avenue). Commuter service to downtown is provided by Metra in Melrose Park or Franklin Park. Travel time to the downtown Chicago station is about 23 minutes (Melrose Park Station) or 30 minutes (Franklin Park Station). Local bus service is available from PACE. The RTA Travel Info.
