Community Overview

Park Ridge is a village of about 36,000 14 miles northwest of downtown Chicago. While almost exclusively residential, Park Ridge has a small commercial district. Recreational opportunities include the programs of the Park District and Forest Preserve facilities. (See below for details on schools).

Transportation needs are served by area highways (I-90/94/Kennedy Expwy., I-294/Tri-State Tollway), and major local roads (Touhy Ave., Greenwood St., Dempster St./U.S. 14). Commuter service to downtown is provided by Metra at the Mt. Prospect station. Travel time to the downtown Chicago station is about 23 minutes (express). Local bus service is available from PACE.
