Prospect Heights Community Guide

Community Overview

Prospect Heights is a village of about 15,000 26 miles northwest of downtown Chicago. The town has a large corporate tax base that makes residential property tax unnecessary. Recreational opportunities focus on the Park District's Gary Morava Recreation Center. Elementary school districts 23, 21 and 26 serve the community and Secondary students attend district 214 schools. (See below for details on schools).

Transportation needs are served by area highways (I-294/Tri-State Tollway, I-94/Edens Expwy.), and major local roads (I-83, U.S. 12, U.S. 45). Commuter service to downtown is provided by Metra. Travel time to the downtown Chicago station is about 23 minutes (express). Local bus service is available from PACE. The RTA Travel Info. Number is 1-800-972-7000.
