Sauk Village Community Guide

Community Overview

Sauk Village is a southeast suburb about 35 miles southeast of downtown Chicago. Recreational opportunities include programs at the community center. Grade school-aged children attend Strassburg or Wagoner Grade Schools and Admiral Rickover Junior High, all in district 168, while secondary students go to Thornton Township High Schools, district 215. (See below for details on schools).

Transportation needs are served by area highways (I-394/Calumet Expwy.),and major local roads (Torrence Ave., Lincoln Hwy.). Commuter service to downtown is provided by the Metra Electric Line (ME) in Olympia Fields. Local bus service is available from PACE. The RTA Travel Info. Number is 1-800-972-7000.
