Schiller Park Community Guide

Schiller Park is a village of about 11,200 14 miles west of downtown Chicago. The town has a mix of residential, commercial and industrial development, including a planned mixed-use development on 80 acres vacated by a railroad. Recreational opportunities include the programs of the Schiller Park Park District. Grade school-aged children attend district 81 schools. Secondary students attend East Leyden High school, district 212 in Franklin Park.(See below for details on schools).

Transportation needs are served by area highways (I-90/Kennedy Expwy., I-294/Tri-State Tollway),and major local roads (Irving Park Rd., Mannheim Rd.). Commuter service to downtown is provided by the Metra-Milwaukee District Western Line (MD-W) in Franklin Park. Travel time to the downtown Chicago station is about 25-35 minutes.
