Woodridge Community Guide

Community Overview

Woodridge is a town of about 25,000 located 23 miles west of downtown Chicago. The town supports office, research and light industrial development along its southern border with Internationale Centre, a 740 acre business park. Argonne National Lab is located nearby. Recreational opportunities include the programs of the Woodridge Park District. Most elementary schoolchildren attend Woodridge District 68 schools. High school students attend Downers Grove High School, district 99, which has a north and south campus. (See below for details on schools).

Transportation needs are served by area highways ((Eisenhower Expwy. - I-290, Tri-State (I-294), North/South Tollway (I-355), East-West Tollway (I-88)) and major local roads (Rte. 53, and 75th. St.). Commuter service to downtown is provided by Metra at the Downers Grove Station on the Burlington Northern (BN) line. Travel time to the downtown Chicago station is about 30 minutes (express).
