Ever since I can remember, my purrson has labelled me with a condition she calls "terminal cuteness".  I know the word 'terminal' is a scary word, but every time she says it she smiles and laughs, so I guess I shouldn't worry about it.  She also says that if cats could have ADHD, then I exhibit all the symptoms.  I don't know - but I do love life and attack it every day.   I only have one speed - all out!

My sister, Ethel, and I came to live with our purrson in a lovely big house after having spent a very long time in a place with a lot of other cats and d*gs.  It was very small and noisy, and we did not want to be there, even though we were treated kindly.  When we first went there we had another sister but one day a strange purrson saw her and took her away.  I was very afraid when 'OUR' purrson showed up that they would take Ethel and leave me all alone.  Luckily, she decided we should not be separated and allowed us both to adopt her!

It didn't take us long to learn the ropes and make the new house all ours.  We keep discovering new toys (we think the purrson is responsible) and new ways to amewse ourselves and our purrson.  We've also gone through a couple of name changes because our purrson couldn't quite figure us out (a trick we keep working on).  She kept calling me "CURIO" at first - I guess because of my getting into any- and everything I could find.  But I didn't like the way that sounded, and am much happier to be named Lucy, after the famous tv star.

Actually, at any given moment, I might be called any one of a dozen different names - Lucy Lou, Lulubelle, Lucy Pussy, Lucy Pooh - to name but a few.  I guess I don't mind - they all sound pretty good as long as I'm not in trouble (and I would never get into any trouble, would I?)

My many talents include my great speed.   I can sneak out the door at a moment's notice.  Once I did it and my purrson didn't even notice.  I was out there for a long time before she came looking for me.   It was early one morning and I guess she wasn't very wide awake when I made my escape.  But was I ever glad she came looking - it was pretty cold out there, not to mention boring, being all by myself.  I much prefer it when I go on the lam and my purrson comes right after me.  I've led her on some wild chases through the neighbors' yards in the past.  It's such FUN, but she always gives up eventually, so then I have to follow her home and pretend to be easily enticed back inside.

Another skill I've developed from an early age is ball fetching.  We have dozens of soft foam rubber balls all over the house which I often bring to my purrson.  She usually throws them right away, so I have to keep bringing them back to her.  She's hard to train, but I'm very patient and will keep on trying.  Actually,I bring all kinds of things to her and love to present her with some of my favorite toys.  She seems to appreciate my thoughtful gestures.

When the weather is warm outside, our purrson puts our harnesses on and takes us outside.  We really love this and would like to spend all our time there.  I love to explore the countryside, but the harness keeps me restricted.  One of my favorite things is to hide on the desk and try to catch birds.  I have done in a couple and my purrson isn't very pleased with me at those times, but that's not going to stop me.

I also love to climb trees, but the harness has caused problems there, too.  I've gotten stuck on more than one occasion and been left dangling - literally!  Lucky for me, my purrson comes to my rescue.  Do I ever get a good scolding for that!  And then she makes me go back inside too :(   She says it's a good thing I wear a harness and not just a collar.
