On the Twenty-Fifth of Elul, of the year 5759 (6 September 1999),
we celebrated our son's reaching the age of mitzvot.

Ilan read the Torah that morning at Ohel Ya'akov,
the old synagogue established in 1886 in the center of town
by settlers supported by Baron Rothschild.
Ohel Ya'akov Est. 1886

In the evening we celebrated with Friends and Family at
Beit HaRishonim outside of Netanya.

On the following Saturday, Day 1 of Rosh Hashanah 5760,
(11 September 1999) Ilan read the Torah in the new synagogue

of Neve HaBaron, Zichron Ya'akov, which opened its doors
for prayer for the first time the evening before.

We would like to thank all of you for celebrating with us,
in body and in spirit, this time of our life.

The pages include pictures from the party at Beit HaRishonim.
In addition to commemorating Ilan's taking his place in clal yisral,
we had a pretty good time.

We can reprint these pictures if anybody wants them.  Just a bit of background, though...
About 15 disposable cameras were distributed without much forethought.  The average age
of the photographers is roughly 10 years.  So... you can assume that some of the images
have undergone [gasp!] retouching from the original, physical photographs.  We're pleased
with the outcome.  Enjoy!
  In friendship and kinship,
- Susan and Michael Jaffe
