About me and this project

I am a 36 year old accountant, and live about 10 minutes walk from the beach in the bayside suburb of Elwood in Melbourne, Australia (St. Kilda, which is quite well known, is about 10 minutes walk north from here). I am single with a ten year old daughter Sara, who I see every second weekend - in fact she's staying with me for a few days over the Christmas break. I live in an old fashioned flat, and lead a quiet sort of life.

I initially started this family history in 1985, but came back to it in September 1996. I wanted to try to understand the sort of people that my ancestors were, how they lived their lives and how they fitted into their times. You won't find anyone famous here, but I would be happy if you get some idea of what these people were like. The information on these pages is still sketchy, and I am only slowly adding new pages to this site at the rate of about one or two a month. I also make small updates to the pages as I discover new things. My current focus is on updating my database with information I already have rather than doing any more original research to fill in the blanks, but if you want to see some of my best work to date (which includes some original research I have done on one of my ancestors) click here.

Ho Ho Ho - my beautiful darlin' Liz and I are going on a big trip to Europe for three months in May! This is just going to be great!
