Welcome to our family news page! I will attempt to update often to keep you informed of the latest and greatest events at our house. I plan on including lots of fun stuff on this page like our children's latest accomplishments (or catastrophes!), news about Steve's projects at work or the scoop on my latest obsessions (like these web pages!).

WARNING--unless you're a close friend or family member, you'll probably be bored silly reading this! Anyway, here's the scoop...

August 1997

Family Stuff -- We had a great time last month in Hawaii. Read all about our trip and see pictures at our Maui Vacation page.

Rhiannon -- Rhiannon is getting ready to start her Junior year of High School. She's been working out all summer for the cheerleading squad which should be lots of fun for her. It's amazing how much work being a cheerleader really entails! Unfortunately, we probably won't get to see Rhiannon often once school starts but we're looking forward to spending holidays with her. Here are some pictures of Rhiannon.

Michael -- Mike recently started two-a-day practices for Freshman Football. Those coaches sure work the kids hard. Poor Mike is tired and sore but he seems to be enjoying the activity. Great news -- Mike earned a starting position on the offensive line! Now he's going to have to work extra hard to keep it! School starts on September 8th and Mike's looking forward to it (sort of). I'll miss having him around the house because he's such a big help with the little kids! Click here for some pictures of Michael.

Joey -- Little Joe is still a bundle of energy but life's been a lot easier thanks to a great book Steve and I recently read. It's called "Raising Your Spirited Child" by Mary Sheedy Kurcinka and I recommend it highly to anyone who thinks their child is "out of control." The book is so full of insight on what makes these spirited kids tick and offers wonderful and positive ways of handling them. Joey and Sean seem to be developing a wonderful little friendship and Joey still likes to take care of "his baby." Here are some photos of Joey.

Sean -- Sean turned nine months old on August 20 and he's already 31 inches tall and 23 pounds. Our itty bitty baby isn't quite so little anymore! Sean had several major accomplishments last month including learning to crawl and stand. Sometimes he's silly and lets go of whatever he's holding onto and tries to take a couple of steps. Alas, he always falls flat on his face! Oh well, we're in NO hurry for our little one to start walking -- it's hard enough keeping track of him now that he's crawling! Want to see Sean's pictures?

Steve -- Great news. . .Steve just signed a contract to work for the company that is buying Whittaker Electronic Systems. The last few months have been quite stressful at Steve's work since they announced plans to sell his division. Looks like he can finally relax! The project Steve has worked on for years -- prematurely exploding artillery shells electronically -- is still getting stellar reviews from the Army customer.

Julianne -- Let's see. . .what's up with me? Nothing too exciting to report. Still as busy as ever with my word processing business and taking care of the kids. Life is good, though!
