HERMITAGES

A hermitage is "a secluded residence or private retreat."

The hermitages at Still Waters are cozy, private RV trailers. They are situated on semi-private sites amongst oak, dogwood, sassafras, and hickory trees above and within hiking distance of a stream that is fed by year-round springs. Built onto the RV is a wide front porch with deck railing and awning.

The hermitages are all-electric and equipped with hot water heater, bunk, table and 3/4 bath (sink, commode, shower). They are furnished with a refrigerator, hot plate, and microwave oven. Linens, towels and wash cloths, as well as some basic dishes, pots, pans, and utensils are also provided.

Guests need to bring:

  • Bible
  • Notebook for journaling
  • Writing instruments
  • Hiking shoes/boots
  • Good insect repellent
  • Hat and sunscreen
  • Pillow(s)
  • Food and beverages
  • Flashlight

Guests may also want to bring waterproof footwear for walking in the stream. Although the cool water feels wonderful on hot, tired feet, the rocks can be sharp and slick.

Please do not bring a phone, radio, or television, but do consider bringing a camera and/or binoculars.
