Dear National Marfan Foundation Member:

It is time for the third meeting of the Washington-Baltimore Area Marfan Support Group.  The meeting will be on Saturday, October 17, 1998.  Dr. Hal Dietz will continue the presentation which he began last October.

As in April, the meeting will be at NIH, building 31C, conference room C6, from 1:00 until 5:00 P.M.  And also as in April, because the meeting will take place on Saturday, you can park in the lot in front of the building.  As you face the building, enter the door directly in front of you which is B3 Level. If the door is locked, pick-up the telephone, wait a few seconds, and an NIH police person will answer the phone. Tell him/her that you are here for the Marfan meeting. Walk down the hall. In front of you is an escalator and the Division of Public Safety Turn right, which is the only way you can turn, to the elevators. Take an elevator to the 6th floor.  Go down the hall and turn right or left (I forget which way, but there are signs) to Conference Room C6.

I thought I would ask Dr. Dietz to begin about 1:30, and any who want to, can stay after and chat.

Also on the agenda: on Saturday, April 17, 1999, Clair Francomano, M.D., Chief, Medical Genetic Branch, Clinical Director, NHGRI (National Human Genome Research Institute), at NIH, and a member of the NMF Professional Advisory Board, will be our speaker. Same time, same place.

Please feel free to call me if you need a map of NIH.  As always, please feel free to write or call me with thoughts, suggestions, concerns, questions, etc. I'm looking forward to seeing you at the meeting on Saturday October 17, at 1:00.

Sincerely,

Betsy Gaffney
