Gum Creek Presbyterian Church, USA
Unto These Hills..

Gum Creek Presbyterian Church stands just below the knoll of the highest point in Newton County, looking across the rolling Georgia hills to a distant view of Stone Mountain. Since 1921 this setting has offered a constant witness to the faith and service of Presbyterians in the Gum Creek community and the surrounding area.

Presbyterian activities in the community began in 1917 with a Mission Sunday School conducted in the former Bostwick School by the Reverend J.B. Ficklen, then pastor of Covington Presbyterian Church. In May 1921 the Home Mission Committee of Atlanta Presbytery asked the Reverend C.F. Allen, evangelist, to organize a church.
