Always Remembered

The Cats We Have Known Are
Always Remembered

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Mr. Ebony

Mr. Ebony

Mr. Ebony (a black cat with not one bad luck bone in his body) was brought home by my father who picked him up in the back yard of a friend. Ebon was Mom's little man and loved to snuggle in bed while she held his hind paws. He was a crafty little guy and knew how to knock the patio screen off its tracks so he could come and go when he pleased.

Miss Tabatha

Miss Tabatha.

Miss. Tabatha was my cat until I was drafted and I took her to live with my mom. Tabatha knew a good thing when she saw it and never left the warmth and security of mom's hearth, table, lap and bed.

Mr. Ebony and Miss Tabatha were my mother's cats. Her "little rascals" were
confidants and companions for many years. Mother and I both miss them very much.

Miss Tinker

Miss Tinker

Miss Tinker was given to me by some friends. She was a sweet kitten except for the time she got out without my permission and got "in the family way". She got under the floor of the mobile home we were living in and dug her way to the outside through the insulation. In due time Tinker had five lovely kittens and I found good homes for all of them, especially Mr. Winston because I kept him. As an adult Tinker was a little aloof and didn’t like anyone, except her dad. “Doc” and I helped Miss Tinker to the Rainbow Bridge when she was twelve and suffering from cancer.

My dear, dear Mr. Winston. Miss Tinker had you, your two brothers and two sisters in the closet next to my bed. From the first you were my favorite of the litter and your little scrunched face and that little mew were what made me want to keep you. I often called you “Mr. Boo” because you would sneak up on me and grab my leg and talk to me. You were the best of cats. You warmed my lap and my life. I held you in my arms and rubbed your ears and you looked at me and purred as “Doc” helped you to the Rainbow Bridge. You loved your “warm sun spot” on the patio and I know that you are sunning yourself as I write this. I miss you Mr. Boo.

Here you will find Mr. Winston as a kitten.

Mr. Grady came to me off the streets. He just walked into my life and made a place for himself in my heart and my home. He was Mr. Winston’s friend and was teaching Gus the ropes when he disappeared on December 26, 1997. Grady loved to sit on my legs while I reclined on the couch and would always come for his ear and chin scratch when I got in bed. Even with Cinnamon, Baldwin and Gus here the house seems a little empty now that he is gone. I miss you Buddy.

Little Bit

Little Bit

Little Bit was a lovely little guy who was with us for only a short time. He enjoyed hiding among the packages under the Christmas tree but he ran away or was stolen from us. We all miss him.

My buddy, my friend, my snuggle bud, my Mr. Baldwin. Born in a barn I picked you up and brought you home and you never looked back. I loved the way you would sneak up on me when I would lie on the couch for a nap. You would get on my chest and purr until we both went to sleep. You loved being brushed and having your ears and tummy scratched and always helped me at the computer with kisses on my hand. I miss you so very very much. You were my baby boo and when you died in my arms a hole was ripped in my heart that will never be healed until we are together again. I miss you B.
