WHAT IS CHRISTMAS ANYWAY?
Christmas morning, what a wonderful time,
a time full of happiness and cheer,
opening presents and stockings, and having family near.

Singing songs, and having great feasts,
a time full of love, joy and peace

What is Christmas anyway?  Is it a time or a place?
A time when you see joy on a small child's face?

Is it gifts to be wrapped, to be torn open again?
A time to reach out to help a hurting friend?

Is it a time to help others? to feed the homeless and help the poor?
Christmas is all these things and more.

It is a time to celebrate our dear Savior's birth,
a time to rejoice that He came to this earth.

It is a time to reflect on the Father's great plan,
to come to this earth in the form of a man.

He came to experience everthing we do and more, joys and temptations, torment and pain,
and what do you think this world had to gain?

What did the world gain by this tiny child's birth?
What did the world gain when He came to this earth?

He came into this world without sin, without stain,
He took upon Himself, all of our sins and our pain.

If we accept this great sacrifice that by Him was made,
when we go before judgment, all our sins will be paid.

They were paid by the blood of Jesus, the Christ,
they were paid by this child, when He died on the cross.

Every year the world celebrates, making preparations with care,
buying presents, decorating and singing songs,
and these are all wonderful things,
but how many are truly aware?

How many are aware of the true spirit of Christmas,
just how many know?
of the true cost that was paid, by this child,
who came to this earth, so meek and so mild,
so He could make you His holy child.

Just how do you receive this most wonderful gift?
By saying a prayer, and your heart to Him lift.

Say Jesus I know that my sins you have paid,
when you died on the cross, the foundation was laid.
I know I'm a sinner Lord, and to you I repent,
forgive me right now, so that one day, I will be Heaven sent.
