Ouch! Hot! Don't get too close.
Aren't you glad
you're not out there?
WINTER!
Relax, enjoy the fire and the view, and take a peek at my journal below to see what winter is like up here.

DECEMBER 22...

The first day of winter! I know I spend all winter waiting for spring, but once autumn hits I start imagining the frosty weather and snowy days in front of the fire and I actually start looking forward to it! Go figure!

I remember my first winter up here. I'm not sure what I expected, but it's sure not what I got! The first snow of the season is a wonderful thing, but after that...
It sort of reminds me of that story Dad gave me called
"Dairy of a Snow Shoveler". I wonder if that happens to everyone that moves to a place like this?

JANUARY 11...

So, not even one month ago I was just tickled to see winter arrive...was I nuts? I don't have a four-wheel drive, I don't ski, I never used my heater when I lived down the hill, there's no mall, I pay a huge cable bill because we can't get broadcast TV... why did I do this??? The worst part is "Cabin Fever". It's hard to explain because different people feel it in different ways, but this is what it feels like to me. Scary, huh?

FEBRUARY 20...

This is officially the last full month of winter. Yay! I realize that there's an awful lot of complaining going on here, but being born in Los Angeles and raised in the 'burbs, it's quite a change for me! As much as I detest getting up at 4AM to shovel snow out of the driveway, I don't think I'd like to go back to a winter with no snow at all. This is what winter looks like up here. See why I moved?
