The Lighthouse in Scranton, Inc, is a new ministry presently taking form and root in the church, as we follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit in all matters and decisions.
We are a Christian recovery outreach. Our purpose is to bring the love of Christ to the hopeless and lost; we hope to empower and reach people who may not already be finding help through presently existing ministries. We want to work as an adjunct with already existing outreaches in helping others.
As we apply the twelve steps of spiritual and emotional recovery and healing to our personal problems and difficult life situations, we believe we can find a new dimension of healing.
We reach out to the addicted and emotionally wounded. In giving support and unconditional love with understanding to people who are displaced by crisis and addiction, we hope to help them find rootedness and the ability to heal.
We do not discriminate because of denomination or race and any person can receive help if they are willing to be honest with themselves regarding their need for recovery in Christ.
Our main means of ministry will be accomplished as we share our experience, strength and hope in Christ with others. We are not a professional agency; neither do we take the place of counseling. We are simply a hand of support and a channel of Christ's peace and direction to the weary and brokenhearted.
