It was in the year 1985 my father Mr. J.E.P. Sitther and my mother were requested to start a Home under the aegis of the ‘Help a Child Foundation’ for 30 under privileged boys. Mr. J.E.P. Sitther was the Managing Trustee of Tamil Gnana Deepam Trust. When they gave their consent and received a letter from Help a Child Foundation (Redt enn kind), Holland thanked them and instructed them how they should run the home.

In December 1985, 16 boys were admitted and the home was inaugurated on Christmas day. Our Trustees and our local Church pastor were with us for that function. After that, boys were admitted one by one and on February 1^st 1986 our Home was full with 30 boys. We had 2 wardens to help us.

From the beginning our goal is to mould our boys entrusted to our care, as worthy citizens of this country and witness for our Lord Jesus Christ. We are concerned about the development of the spiritual, mental and physical growth of our boys. They have devotions in the mornings and in the evenings. They are encouraged to memorize and study the word of God. We have indoor games like carom, chess etc. and outdoor games like cricket, shuttlecock volleyball etc. We encourage and help them to do their schooling in the most perfect way they can. Now after 18 years they are grown up and many have left the home after finishing their high School and Technical Studies. Now they are working in various places and supporting their families. We are helping them to find their job if they are needed.

We have sports for our boys every year either in January or in April. All our boys participate in track and field events and some indoor games.

In October 1990 my father Mr. J.E.P. Sitther entered his eternal rest. After that my mother took over his responsibility.

We are very grateful to Help a Child Foundation for providing money in 1991, not only to buy our present premises to have a Home of our own but also to build spacious and beautiful halls both on the ground floor and on the first floor.

In August 1994 we were asked to take 25 more boys as we have enough space for them. Sponsors in Australia support our home and it’s growing day by day.

In 1998 when the draught was severe in this area, we were given money for a bore well. By God’s grace we have a good supply of water in the bore wells. Also we have municipal water supply.

We built a building behind our main building. Downstairs is Dining Hall for the boys and in the 1^st floor we have built one Office Room, and Staff Quarters.

In December ‘98 we built a new kitchen, since the old kitchen is in a very bad shape. In July 7^th 1999 we started to use the kitchen. We are very much thankful to our sponsors in Australia

In January 2000 we received money for Gas Room for our new kitchen. Now we are using Gas for our cooking (No more firewood)

In November, 2000 we received Rs. 705,000/- for the computer project. In December 14^th we had our inaugural function. Our pastor Rev. Simson Sigamani Opened the Computer Room and shared God’s word. We had a nice gathering.

God has been good to us for the past 16 years. We fall prostrate at His feet with gratitude and praises, considering all that He has done for us.
