Campsites we have reserved!:
Well, Black Mountain Shore went quick this year.   Red Rock Bay is nice, too...
We're a little closer to the "action" this year.  Just a little south of the entrance to Paradise Bay
If you have a specific desire for one of these sites, just let me know - otherwise, first come, first served!!
The sites are all reserved from Sunday, July 9th through Sunday July 23rd.   I will need to start cancelling out dates by the end of May.  Actual PirateFest week is July 16th through Sunday the 23rd!!!
While reading the site descriptions below, you will probably note that we are missing Site #24. Yes, I will do my best to scare the nieghbors away, but it may mean tiptoeing around a campsite at times.  What can I say?
Also note that the sites are all
reserved under certain names. This shouldn't be too big a deal [unless they ask for ID...], but it does mean I will need to know exactly when people plan on arriving, and work out the site schedules from there!!
Red Rock Point Site #21
Water depth is 3.5'.  Large flat site high and away from the water.  There is afternoon sun and an evening sunset.  Tent platform is 12'x14' with a pit type privy.  New shore dock.
- This site currently reserved under the name of Paul Borsh
- Very nice!  Room for tents off platform.  22 and 23 within sight and walking distance!  Great view to the south!
Red Rock Point Site #22
Water depth is 3.5'.  Flat site away from the water.  Afternoon sun and some protection from the winds.  Tent platform is 12'x14' with a pit type privy.  New shore dock.
- This site currently reserved under the name of Phil Uhler
- Wow!  New shore dock.  Lots of room around platform for additonal tents.  Borders a sandy cove that looks great for swimming.
Red Rock Point Site #23
Water depth is 3'.  Large flat site with mixture of sun and shade  Good swimming area for children.  Short walk from dock to campsite.  No tent platform and pit type privy.  New shore dock.
- This site currently reserved under the name of Richard Wert
- It's mine...all mine!  This will be "homebase" for Piratefest.  Plenty of room for the big tarp, borders a sandy cove for kid friendly swimming.  Room around platform for additional tents.  And the dock seems protected by a small island!!!
Site 24 is currently reserved by somebody else.  I'll do my best to try to make a deall with them, but as of now it is a stumbling block.
- the rangers we spoke with were pretty clear we cannot overload the sites with more than 6 people
- Site 24 is right in the middle of the gang - and there is no clear path that goes around them [I'll work on blazing a trail while I'm there!!!]
- ..and we can always work on bribery...
Red Rock Point Site #25
Water depth is 3'.  Large flat site.  Shady, but does have afternoon sunand evening sunset.  Not sheltered from south winds.  Tent platform is 12'x14' with a pit type privy.  Shares dock with Site #26.
- This site currently reserved under the name of Eric Sifert
- A decent site.  Good flat area, though a plethora of roots!  A minute-walk to home base Site 23.
A small, mysterious island, just off the coast of Site #23.  Looks rather piratical, doesn't it?????
Red Rock Point Site #26
Water depth is 3'.  Large site on a point with ledges for diving or jumping.  Mix of sun and shade.  No temt platform, pit type privy.  Near cruiser sites 1&2 of Red Rock Bay.  Shares dock ith Site #25.
- This site currently reserved under the name of Christina Wert
- The site itself is good.  Dock seems reasonably protected.  The best part is the ledges - a good 15-20' above deep water...check out the tree at right.  Not sure how a swing will work, but in Stu we trust...
At left, picture was taken on site #23 looking north.  The farthest dock is in front of #21, the closer dock is in front of #22.  These three sites are very close together!!  Even better, a great swimming cove is right in between 22 and 23 [well, it looks great, anyways...]
