DEEP SKY OBJECTS

The Northern Virginia Astronomy Club (NOVAC) has a CCD program that members can avail too. On August 6, 1999 I went to Crockett Park to learn the "how to" of CCD imaging. Craig used his own SBIG ST7 camera with the club's homemade 8" f/16.4 Classical Cassegrain telescope on a Losmandy G11 mount.

The sky was clear most of the time with  limiting magnitude better than 5. We were able to image several deep sky objects before the clouds covered the sky at 2:00 AM. Craig had the raw images copied into diskettes for me to bring home for reprocessing.
