We got 11 years ago. He was a yellow Labrador, and he was previously maltreated and neglected. Someone had just left him, and he was terribly skinny and ill - and very cautious.
When the police picks up stray dogs in Stavanger,Norway, they put an ad in the paper and wait 3 days untill they put the dogs down. Sometimes the owners shows up, or somebody else wants them.
My boyfriend told them that he wanted to keep Otto for those 3 days, and we've had him since. He was grown up when we got him, so he was old when he died. His favourite hobbies were eating, sleeping on the couch,he chased "women", he just didn't remember why in the end... These pictures show him in his younger days,walking by (and in!) the sea.

We put Otto down May 28th, because he was beginning to have difficulties walking, and he was in pain. We miss him terribly but we had to put his welfare in front of ours...
On his last day; we made sure he got to do all his favourite passtimes; he got plenty of food & snacks, and he rested out in the sun for a couple of hours. Poor Otto!
