"A Sister is someone who hears
the song in my heart
And sings it to me
when my memory fails...."

My sister and friend

is celebrating her 65th birthday this year, 2003, on July 12th.

The very word "sister" brings a warmth to my heart because I always think of my own sister, and it describes someone who is like the best part of me. Janell is four years older than myself, so she became my model and example. All the positive things ever said about sisters is true for us.

Janell and Carol, young

To other people, we look a lot alike and in a lot of ways we are alike, but there are differences also. She is a very organized person and I'm sure she has a hard time understanding the way I operate. I can't understand it, either. But she accepts me as I am and loves me just the same.

One of the things I've always liked about her is her sense of humor. If something is funny, she laughs with all she has, and I just love that!

It was about this time of her life
when someone tagged the nickname "skinny" on her.
I think it's the "Audrey Hepburn" look.

Janell is one of the few people I know who can truly keep a secret. She has a very caring and thoughtful nature. Therefore, she has many friends. In matters of right and wrong, she is always guided by her deep faith in God. She has a loving husband, Kenneth, a daughter, Suzanne, and two grandsons, Kyle and Tyler.

With every passing year I realize more and more how blessed I have always been in the sisterly department, and I'm so thankful for that!

I love you, Janell........I hope I have you in my life forever.

Thanks for the memories.
Your loving sister, Carol

"There is no Friend like a Sister"

from "There Is No Friend Like A Sister"
by Mary Engelbreit

There's no better friend than a sister -
There's no one more loyal and true . . .
and even when sisters are different . . .
their likeness comes shining through!

Perhaps it's a family resemblance,
that strengthens the bond they share . . .
or maybe it's just that sisters live life with a similar flair!
A sister remembers your collegehood -
She knows more than you will admit,
of times you were Little Miss Perfect . . .
and times you gave others a fit!
She's seen you in some situations
when silence just wouldn't suffice . . .
and managed somehow to get by with those
sisterly words of advice!

And when some encouragement's needed . . .
a sister will always be there . . .
to listen . . .
to laugh . . .
or to lean on . . .
to comfort, or simply to care.

There's no one who's more in your corner . . .
and no one you're more grateful to.
There's no better friend than a sister . . .
and no better sister than you.

SISTERLY QUOTES

Thanks to

"The desire to be and have a sister is a primitive and profound one that may have everything or nothing to do with the family a woman is born to. It is a desire to know and be known by someone who shares blood and body, history and dreams . . ."
Elizabeth Fishel
