His wife was Mathilda Dorothy Schnase b:2/6/1853 Flattenstein, Germany (hamburg?) d:7/5/1916 in Falsen, ND. Their 1 t 2 children were born in Germany (John & Antonia), the third child, Martin was born 6/7/1884 in Rosen, Minnesota. There are also many listings I have gathered showing Anamoose and Minot, ND. Hi Mike, My name is Kurt Borchardt, and I think we are probably remotely related. My great-grandfather was Gustave Borchardt, born in Lauenburg East Prussia in the middle 1800s. He immigrated to the US after two unsuccessful attempts to settle in Brazil. The family settled in Chicago in the 1880s, sponsored by the Lutheran church. I moved to Portland in 1992. Most of the family remains in the Midwest, either in the Chicago area or Wisconsin.
