Anna this past Easter

I HAVE A NEW UPDATE ABOUT MY BABY GIRL!!!!!!!

(For those of you who don't know, I placed my baby for adoption in October of '96. She is with a great couple in Minnesota.) In late September (97) my little girl and her parents flew down for a visit! It was so good to be able to see her again. She's such a doll! Even after seeing her again, though, I can still honestly say I believe I did the right thing. I miss her still, and always will, but John and Sharon make GREAT parents for her. I'd be struggling WAY too much with two young children so close in age.

I will be flying to Minnesota next month to see my beautiful daughter! We will be there from October 16th to the 19th. I can't wait to see her, and Warren is excited as well. Just 3 more weeks!!! Check back in late October for the visit update!!!

October visit



Well, the visit went well. Anna is a very happy and well adjusted two year old. I was able to attend her birthday party, read to her and Warren, played with her, and got some shopping done at the Mall of America as well! I was worried about the flight back. It was due to land a little before 5:00pm, just in time for rush hour, and I had a test to take at 6:00!!!! I was worried that it would snow and the flight would be delayed, but all was well, I made it in time for the test, and aced it as well! I can't wait to see little Anna again next fall when they come back to Memphis for a visit.

For Anna



Everything changed two years ago,
When I first held you in my arms.
My heart ached with love for you
And the tears flowed in swarms.

You meant so much to me, but I had to let go
For you deserved better than I could give.
I gave you life, but couldn't provide
The life you deserved to live.

Before your birth I realized this,
And set out to find one better.
First an agency, then a computer
And I found a dear birthmother letter.

I surfed the net for days and days,
Looking for just the right people,
Who just like you deserved so much better.
Anna, we were lucky to find such people.

As I read the letter that blessed day
I knew it had to be right.
I praised the Lord when I found the answer,
To my most stressful plight.

One day you'll know the truth,
Exactly who I am to you.
And when you know, I hope you'll see
That my choice was love so true.
