With todays society, much is focused on the depressed and sorrowful. Just watch the local news, and you'll see violence, hate, death, destruction, and pain of all sorts.
BUT, there is good news, there is hope, and there is a plan with a purpose! God reveals His good news through His word, the Holy Scriptures. That good news includes a way for all to enter into heaven if we receive His free gift. That's right, I said "FREE." Free to you and me, but it cost someone else. It cost the life of Jesus Christ. Through His death, burial, and resurrection He paid the way for all to enter heaven. But if we don't believe, and we don't receive this gift, then we are doomed. There is encouragement there, God gave us a second opportunity to fellowship with Him. We lost our communication with God through sin, but God made a way for us to reunite with Him through His Son, Jesus Christ!
