I am also researching the Wells family. My Wells was living in Santa Rosa Florida. Eliza Wells b. 1839/40 was the daughter of Littleton Wells and the wife of Jesse B. Ezell. Eliza was later found in the Diamond family.

Hi David, I got to your site from the LDS search, I am looking for the family of George TOD and Elspeth MASON from Fifeshire in Scotland. they were married on 21 Aug 1791 in Cameron, Fife, Scotland. Their children were: William, Jean,George, James, Alexander and Alexander. We think that Elspeth's parents were Andrew Mason & Jean Baxter but this does not fit the naming patern so I'm not sure that this is right. Greetings from Great Bromley. Our cottage dates from the period of your ancestors i.e. before the English Civil War and maybe earlier. Certainly some of the timbers used in its construction date from the mid 15th Century. We are about 1 mile from the village church (12th Century)and next to the Old Black Boy Inn which is early 17th Century. The Inn is supposed to be a former Courthouse and the Gallows apparently stretched across the road. If you have any details of where your ancestors lived in the village I would be grateful as I would like to research the history of this cottage. You never know, maybe our ghost is connected to you! ( We do have a photo of it)
