Thus far I have found my earliest Barrons on Edisto Island, SC. The Patriarch of the family was Elias Barron. Athough U.S. Census records do not confirm it, rumor has it that he was born on the first day of freedom, 1865. According to his death certificate however,he was born in Georgetown, SC in 1863. He was one of at least three children. His sister was Susan Jane and his brother was Isaac. Elias was a farmer.
Some members of the Barron family reside on Edisto Island as well as in Philadelphia, and New York. We would be most interested in communicating and collaborating with other family members.
